It was a night to be like no other,
for she had a date with her vampire lover,
It had been three months, but now she would see him again;
any chance to see each other, they would,
although he had his kids this time, it would still be good,
the evening was storming with the usual Louisiana rain.

With never a Build-a-bear pardon,
then ending up at the Olive Garden,
the night was filled with many layers of tease;
always more than they could ever bargain,
in the mist of their playful arguing,
someone forgot to tell the waiter he was pouring way too much cheese!!

He took her home for it was getting late,
this would be the end of their date,
in moments of romance and pleasure, time always seems to pass so fast;
one can never know exactly what time will bring,
sometimes you just have to appreciate the little things,
love and romance was never meant to last.

Ignoring the desire to have so much more,
being a gentlemen he walked her to her door,
gave her a huge, turned around and started to leave;
like a feeling of an opportunity that had just been missed,
he changed his mind, turned around and gave her a kiss,
this was a moment in time his memories he wanted to cleave.

It was short and sweet, he turned to walk out the door,
but she was overpowered by her desire for a little bit more,
she forcefully grabs his arm, pulled him back into the utility room and slammed the door;
she now had him locked in a blissful explosive kiss,
time seemed to stop in a rainbow colorful bliss,
a powerful energy surged through their bodies and rocked them to their very core.

The sinking yielding, the surging tide of warmth,
a dizzy swaying world that had now transformed,
the sounds of a symphonic lingual ingressive suction click
like a harmonic choir.
with the deliciously overpowered contortive sweeps,
a blossoming flower perfumed smell of rainbows weep,
a dreamy haze where both of them somehow get pushed
back, back against the dryer.

Nothing existed, no gravity, nothing was ever wrong,
just an ongoing surrendering night that would last so long,
the ending of an amazing night that could only feel so right.
was it the time apart? was it each other they miss?,
was it the blissfulness of this long entranced kiss?,
or the serenity of the soul, the bewitching high of this long
southern goodnight.

But, back to reality, like a note that had been struck,
for a moment they had forgotten his kids were in his truck,
she opened the door and let him finally walk out;
walking down the steps, they were both really quite,
still thinking about that long kiss goodnight,
this would be a moment they’d never forget,
there just was no doubt.

Life can always turn on a dime and make you cry,
there’s always that question, was this the last goodbye?,
never a comforting feeling, but a fact, there’s always a
chance it just might;
so embrace what life offers you, and hold onto what it brings,
make each moment in time special and appreciate the little things,
and never forget the very long kiss goodnight.
