In the shadows of the night,
the stars above me shining bright;
I walk alone with my despair,
the moon my only company there.

In the darkness of my soul,
the love I seek I cannot hold;
for I am cursed with a fate,
to dwell in this dark, lonely state.

My heart beats fast with every step,
as I journey into the abyss, a lover’s quest;
with each breath, I feel the weight,
of this never-ending, hopeless wait.

But then I see her, a vision in the night,
the one I’ve sought, my heart’s delight;
her beauty takes my breath away,
and I am left with nothing left to say.

Her eyes are like the stars above,
her smile, the light that I’ve been dreaming of;
and in her embrace, I am lost,
a darkness that consumes me at any cost.

For in her love, I find my peace,
a feeling that will never cease;
but with every touch, I feel the pain,
of a love that I know will never remain.

For I am but a shadow, a ghost,
a love that cannot have and hold;
and so I walk the lonely night,
a cursed soul forever in the fight.

But still, I hold onto hope,
That one day, I’ll be able to cope;
With this darkness that consumes my soul
And find the love that will make me whole.

Until that day, I’ll walk alone,
with my heart aching, my spirit torn;
but still, I’ll keep my head up high,
and search for that love until the day I die.

For in this darkness, I find my light,
a hope that shines so very bright;
and though my love may never be,
I’ll hold onto hope, eternally.
