I once loved you,
but now that’s all gone;
although you spoke those pretty words,
your moves were all so wrong.
Once hopeful of our future,
but the path was just the same;
empty heart, sweet lies,
a deceitful mind twisting game.
A tireless struggle it would seem,
when the other constantly needs a shove;
sometimes in order to save your own self,
you have to walk away from love.
You can’t spend your whole life,
wondering the purpose that was meant;
you have to judge the presented actions given,
and appreciate the time that was just spent.
Just another dead end chapter,
once positive energy but now filled with doubt
that mystical sweet surrender that once stood,
has now just simply fizzled out.
Now you live in my memories,
I dream of all the little moments that we had;
It’s not easy walking away from love,
and at times, it makes me sad.
